Cardinal 0.4 - Release Notes and Readme:

Thank you for using Cardinal. Please read the following as it answers most common questions:

Cardinal is in an early stage and there are likely some bugs. Please report them.

Changes since 0.3
=======================================
- Cardinal now uses OAuth.
- Toolbar contains search box for twitter searches.
- Tabbed interface, multiple accounts.
- Bug Fixes
- SQLite based archive - only archives what it sees while running.
- New account wizard.
- Ignore List based on regexp.

Changes since 0.2.5
=======================================
- Cardinal uses 64 bit integers for ID's making it work again.
- You can now delete categories.
- Several bug fixes.
- Additional Categories - My Tweets, Responses, DM's.
- Filtering works properly, no longer just users (users and searches work now).
- Some snarl work has been done; aka it works properly now.

Cardinal Features
=======================================
- General Timeline View
- Category Filtering - You can filter by a search query or a username. You can also use the built-in filters that can not be changed.
- SuperTweet on Windows - Press Alt+F9 in ANY application and you can tweet. This is a global hotkey and is unregistered at exit.
- Threaded Views - Replies are threaded under their orignal msg.
- RAM Usage - I've never seen cardinal use over 75MB of RAM.
- Snarl Support on Windows - Cardinal will push new tweets to Snarl on Windows. - Snarl can also push notifications to iPhone devices.
- Colors and text sizes can be adjusted. Blank them out to reset them to default.

Known Bugs
=======================================
- Cardinal is HEAVY on the API usage. This is not really a bug but you might max out your requests/hr. This is due to Cardinal doing useful stuff and Twitter not knowing there are clients that do that.
- Some features on MacOS don't work right, that will be fixed in 0.4.

Installing Cardinal from Source:
=======================================
$ qmake
$ make
$ sudo make install

Q&A:
=======================================
Q: Will cardinal support $FEATURE?
A: The answer is a likely yes unless it's absoutely stupid. Please suggest it.

Q: Does Cardinal work on anything besides Windows?
A: Yes, it supports X11, MacOS, and Windows Mobile.

Q: Cardinal is not provided as a binary for my OS.
A: Build it from source.

Q: Where can I get the source?
A: http://hg.swift.ws/cardinal

Q: When will Cardinal be Intel Only? (MacOS)
A: When I throw my PowerMac on the curb for trash pickup.
A: This has since happened.

Q: Why does Cardinal support OAuth? (formerly doesn't)
A: Because I think it's stupid and it does not provide any additional security. I still think it's stupid but it's now mandated.

Q: Will a portable version be released soon?
A: Yes.

Q: What are super cow powers?
A: ./cardinal --moo & help -> about ;)

Q: Cardinal states my identity is invalid but it is. Why?
A: You have likely maxed out your API calls. Wait an hour.

Q: I think this sucks.
A: Suggest a $FEATURE or report a bug. Or uninstall it and never bother me again.

Q: My twitter account got hacked after I used Cardinal!!! (Or other bullcrap)
A: The source in hg (see above) is the same source used to build binaries. If you still think Cardinal is at fault for $PROBLEM, send a digitally signed EMail to the address below.
